Andy Warhol is one of the most famous painter, avant garde filmmaker, & print maker worldwide. Most famously known for being the leading figure in the whole pop art movement & for being apart of Hollywood, bohemian street people & other social circles. Andy Warhol was born as Andrew Warhola on August 6,1928. As a child Andy became a hypochondriac (developing a fear of hospitals & doctors) as well as having chorea (which is basically a nervous system disease), with him having these 2 illnesses he was bed-ridden a lot of his childhood. But it was pretty much a plus for him because while being in his bed he found a passion for drawing, listening to the radio & collecting pictures of movie stars around his bed. Which he later said this part of his life was very important in the development of his personality, skills & preferences. Andy started to see his career take off in the 1960's, when he started to make paintings of iconic American products like coca-cola bottles & Campbells soup cans. As well as huge celebrities at that time like Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor,Elvis, Muhammad Ali & more. Warhol had a gratitude for intense Hollywood Glamour,He was quoted saying "I Love Los Angeles. I Love Hollywood.They're so beautiful. Everything's plastic, but i love plastic. I want to be Plastic."
Andy died on February 22,1987 in his sleep after having gallbladder surgery & suffering from post operative cardiac arrythmia. Im sure he would be pretty pleased to see how big his amazing pop art has gone & is still to this day, very appreciated.I Mos Def want his work in my house one day.
